Pif le chien (Pif the dog, Pif el perro)

This is the picture of a cat named Hercule. It is for a French comic strip called Pif, the dog. The drawing is done with markers on the surface of white paper.

I add a bit about the history of this character, which was unknown to me until this week when Elena Malec, a friend from the Web site Drawspace, made the favor of inviting us to draw characters of the strip. Well, let´s know something about the characters.

Pif le chien(Pif the dog) appeared as comic strip for the first time in the Fench newspaper L'Humanite in 1948.
The character was created in 1945 by Jose Cabrero Arnal.
In 1952 due to its increasing popularity Pif appears in color in the journal Vaillant and the journal will be named from 1965 Vaillant Pif journal.
In 1969 it adds prizes and is named Pif gadget.

The original story is about this doggie that lives in a family of workers, Tonton, the father, Tata the mother and Doudou the baby.Two years later, in 1950 a new character was added, Hercule, a mischievious cat that constantly plays tricks and chalenges Pif.

Pif was animated for a television cartoon series called Pif et Hercule, in 1989, and a movie New adventures of Pif and Hercule in 1993.

Hercule was also developed as a character in its own right with a magazine dedicated to his adventures, called Super Hercule.


Este es el dibujo de un gato llamado Hercule (Hércules). Corresponde a una tira cómica francesa llamada Pif, el perro. El dibujo esta hecho con marcadores de agua sobre papel.

Agrego un poco sobre la historia de este personaje, el cual me era desconocido hasta esta semana cuando Elena Malec, compañera en el sitio web de Drawspace, nos hizo el favor de invitarnos a dibujar personajes de esta tira. Bien, conozcamos algo de los personajes.

Pif le chien (PIF el perro) apareció como cómic por primera vez en el periódico francés L'Humanite en 1948.

Pif fue animada para la televisión con una serie de caricaturas llamada Pif y Hércules, en 1989, y una película de Nuevas Aventuras de Pif y Hércules en 1993.

Hércules también fue desarrollado como un personaje por derecho propio con una revista dedicada a sus aventuras, llamado Super Hércules.
